Who is Get it Done SB?

Get it Done SB is an initiative of Hospice of Santa Barbara which emerged from years of collaborative work around health care planning.

This initiative provides free workshops and one-on-one services throughout South Santa Barbara County to help people complete and finalize their MyCare or other Advance Directive Forms. Its goal is to help the South Santa Barbara community participate in conversations regarding their future medical care with their friends and loved ones.

Additionally, eleven highly experienced volunteers in ACP assist in ensuring the community has the correct tools and guidance on how to complete and submit their document.

What services does Get it Done SB offer?

Get it Done SB, an initiative of Hospice of Santa Barbara, conducts and supports a variety of programs and events to help the South Santa Barbara community connect with friends and loved ones in conversations about the balance between life and death, and how to express wishes about their medical care. We aim to strengthen families by equipping them with the tools to engage in these difficult conversations and most importantly, help individuals and their families complete and submit their MyCare document.

We do this by:

  • Providing free workshops and trainings throughout South Santa Barbara County to help people complete and finalize their MyCare or other Advance Directive Forms.

  • Creating and leveraging family/friends events in conjunction with area faith-based organizations and retirement communities to help members and residents have conversations about their health care wishes and Advance Care Directives.

  • Working with our community partners.

  • Co-sponsoring a variety of conferences and community educational events related to our mission. See the Events page for upcoming special events that are open to the public.

What is the goal of Get it Done SB?

We seek to have everyone in the community, at any age  (18 and over) or stage of their lives, complete and submit their MyCare Advance Care Directive document.
