UPCOMING EVENTS

Our workshops are one of the most effective ways to complete your document. They are offered regularly at different locations throughout South County so you can easily participate. All of our workshops are FREE to attend.

What to Expect at Our Workshops

All of our workshops have two parts, meaning attendees are encouraged to attend both Part 1 and Part 2 of a workshop — which are each scheduled a week apart — to fully take advantage of our services.

Part 2: Legalizing your Advance Directive

  • Attendees return at their appointment time with a completed Advance Directive.

  • They meet with an experienced facilitator who reviews their document for errors.

  • Once the document is reviewed, participants are directed to a free notary who legalizes their Advance Directives.

  • Get It Done SB! team members will then make copies of the document, return the original, and submit to Cottage Health Medical Records.

Part 1: Advance Care Planning 101 and the MyCare Advance Directive

  • Experienced facilitators give a presentation on the importance of Advance Care Planning (ACP) and how to complete your MyCare Advance Directive

  • Attendees ask any questions they may have.

  • Before leaving, attendees sign up for a notary appointment to legalize their Advance Directive. This appointment will take place during Part 2 of the workshop, one week later.
